SSG6000A — Microwave Analog Signal Generator, 100 kHz to 40 GHz

High-performance microwave analog signal generators for RF and millimetre-wave R&D, production and receiver testing. The series provides 13.6 GHz, 20 GHz and 40 GHz models with low phase noise, wide output-level control, standard AM/FM/PM modulation and OCXO reference stability.

Key Features

13.6 / 20 / 40 GHz Frequency Coverage

Choose the model according to the required microwave range: RF and microwave component test, LO emulation, receiver stimulus, filter response checks and selected millimetre-wave applications within the instrument range.

Low Phase Noise Signal Source

Typical phase noise of −135 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz and 10 kHz offset makes the source suitable for receiver sensitivity work, LO substitution and signal-chain testing where source purity matters.

Wide Output Level Control

The −130 dBm to +24 dBm level-setting range supports receiver sensitivity checks, component compression tests and calibrated stimulus generation without changing source class.

AM / FM / PM Modulation

Standard analog modulation functions allow RF carrier testing, receiver function checks and modulation-response experiments from the same bench instrument.

OCXO and Step Attenuator Standard

Integrated OCXO reference and 0 to 110 dB step attenuator improve frequency stability and level control for repeatable R&D and production measurements.

Pulse and Pulse-train Capability

Pulse modulation and pulse-train generation are available for radar-style stimulus, gated RF testing and pulse-response characterisation when those functions are enabled.

Remote and ATE Control

USB, LAN and browser-based remote control support automated test systems and rack-based RF benches. GPIB can be added when legacy ATE integration is required.

5-inch Touch Interface

The 5-inch capacitive touch display, plus mouse and keyboard support, keeps front-panel operation practical for manual RF setup and debugging.

Applications

Microwave Component Test

Stimulate amplifiers, filters, mixers, attenuators and receiver front ends across RF and microwave bands up to the selected model limit.

LO and Receiver Sensitivity

Use low phase noise and fine level control for LO substitution, receiver sensitivity checks and RF signal-chain validation.

Pulse RF Stimulus

Pulse modulation and pulse-train generation support radar-style stimulus and gated RF response testing within the generator frequency range.

K / Ka-band Bench Testing

The 40 GHz model covers microwave and lower millimetre-wave component work, including K-band and Ka-band ranges up to the instrument limit.

ATE RF Source

LAN, USB and optional GPIB control make the generator suitable for automated production and rack-based RF validation benches.

Advanced RF Lab

Use as a high-end RF source for microwave communications, modulation, receiver and signal-chain laboratory experiments.
